Kerrie Anderson Interview - Central Coast Edible Garden Trail

Kerrie Anderson is one of the gardeners opening her garden gate during the first Central Coast Edible Garden Trail - 19th and 20th November 2022. Kerrie  is a Permaculture and Meditation Teacher and is passionate about influencing others to make informed choices for a more sustainable future. She is a member of Permaculture Central Coast, Permaculture Australia, a member of FIG (Food Integrity Group) Food Co-op, and a founding member of Matcham Holgate Produce Share.

She is a skilled training facilitator, community connector and is very experienced in coaching individuals and groups in practical permaculture strategies. Kerrie currently works as a TAFE Teacher and also as a Facilitator in the community, for people of all ages from young children to adults, delivering courses on permaculture and sustainability.

The Central Coast Edible Garden Trail celebrates the many ways gardeners on the Central Coast are creating food security, building personal and community resilience, regenerating soils and converting waste into precious resources - all while enjoying the health benefits of home grown produce and taking meaningful action towards reducing food miles and plastics use.

On the edible garden trail visitors can view a range of permaculture systems and practices including:

• Food forests
• Indigenous foods and cultural practices
• Small animal systems including deep litter, chook tractors and integrated food forests
• Water management including swales, rain gardens and ponds
• No dig raised beds and sheet mulching
• Keeping bees – Native and European
• Habitats for wildlife

Ticket holders will have access to around 25 private gardens and a variety of community, laneway and school gardens. Your ticket provides admission to all gardens over the trail weekend - Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th November, between 09:30am and 4:00pm on each day. Please note, that some gardens will only be open for one day.
